Introduction

 

The Recovery Connection’s Code of Ethics must be agreed to by people who want to become members. It is the basis of the behavioral rules expected of people using the center. The Code of Ethics is written by members and may be updated from time to time.

Ethics Statement

 

The Recovery Connection has designed a code of ethics in order to have a set of guidelines to follow while at the center.  These guidelines are to ensure that while at the center you are in a safe and comfortable environment, as well as a judgment free zone.  These guidelines are to be followed at all times while on the property.

Guidelines

 

  • The Recovery Connection will not tolerate drugs and/or alcohol on the premises nor tolerate anyone attending any Recovery Connection activity under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol
  • Disturbances by way of the use of profanity, fighting, outbursts of anger or harming others will not be tolerated.  Weapons of any kind are not allowed on the property
  • Treat each other with dignity, fairness and respect
  • Be honest with yourself and others
  • Work to resist gossip, hearsay and rumors
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of others
  • Do not engage in any inappropriate displays of affection 
  • Do not under any circumstances sexually exploit or harass individuals
  • Do not exploit relationships with others for personal gain
  • Seek to identify and resolve conflicts with others rather than ignore and dismiss them
  • Do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, national origin, sex, height, weight, physical or mental characteristics, sexual orientation, or marital status
  • Work to represent all people in recovery, in an effort to combat the stigma of substance abuse within society, through advocacy and example by respecting the center’s surrounding areas and its neighbors
